Starion Group is delighted to announce the release of a major new version of the CDP4-COMET MBSE platform, which includes upgrades to many of its components. Together, the updates will improve overall performance, usability and security for its two key user groups: engineers who use CDP4-COMET to model complex systems and administrators who are responsible for deploying the software for their user community.

Improvements to the Web Application include several new features, such as:

  • A new tabbed interface
  • Upload and download files to and from WebServices
  • Advanced filtering in the Parameter Editor
  • 3D Viewer improvements.

Meanwhile, the Desktop Application has been upgraded to run on top of the current version of the Microsoft .NET framework. This significant overhaul of the software has provided performance improvements and improved security: users should find that loading larger models takes less time and overall interactivity has improved.

Finally, the WebServices, which acts as the central model server, has also had a major overhaul of its codebase, resulting in a long list of upgrades, such as:

  • Upgrade from net482 to net8.0 to be in line with the state of the art
  • MessagePack based serialisation for improved performance
  • Support for PostgreSQL 16.x
  • New endpoints for advanced querying such as: cherry picking, long running tasks and health monitoring.
