Our ground segment solutions have been supporting satellite missions for over 30 years. European space agencies, institutions and businesses rely on them every hour of every day.
At Starion, we believe your ground segments should be as individual as your satellites. Using our modular ASTRAL solution, we tailor and operate complete mission or individual ground segment environments to suit you, not us.
We know that the characteristics and requirements of our clients’ missions differ widely. Using our unique, component-based ASTRAL solution, we can provide all the key ground segment elements and integrate them with a range of ground station providers. You can rely on ASTRAL for:

All of Starion’s space solutions benefit from our in-house experts dedicated to competences including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, cybersecurity and model-based system engineering (MBSE). Using their expertise, our ground segment solutions provide security by design and increased automation and efficiency.
Our unique combination of competences and willingness to push boundaries, coupled with decades of space expertise, enable us to deliver innovative solutions you can trust.
The value of satellites lies in their data. We can support every element of the payload data ground segment (PDGS) including processing, quality checking, archiving and disseminating the final data products to users.
We support the PDGS design and implementation phase of most Earth observation (EO) scientific missions managed by ESA (Earth Explorers), from the initial requirement engineering phase up to final transfer to operations of the PDGS infrastructure.
We are also involved in the overall operation coordination management of such missions, and in the daily mission planning operations of Copernicus (Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2) and the systematic data production and routine quality assessment of Sentinel-2.

We apply AI and machine learning to help space, defence and critical infrastructure organisations work better, faster and more securely.
Starion can help you implement model-based system engineering (MBSE), increasing efficiency and productivity, and providing a ‘single point of truth’ for your data.
We help space sector organisations secure their infrastructure, data and applications against deliberate attacks and accidental or natural events.
