Starion is proud to provide support to Sunshine In Nosy Komba – a charity helping the population of a small volcanic island off the main Madagascar island, in East Africa – by sponsoring this year’s Sunshine In Nosy Komba Festival on 7-8 June at the European Space Agency (ESA’s) European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC).

Since 2016, we have partnered with the organisation through our work at ESTEC in the Netherlands, where Sunshine In Nosy Komba is also based. The charity provides and promotes education, healthcare and sustainable development to Nosy Komba’s 5,000-strong local population.

This year’s festival will feature a food and drinks fair, live music, salsa, Zumba, children’s activities, virtual reality games workshops and a variety of sporting tournaments. All funds raised will go towards the cost of running the island’s École Banana school, which delivers high quality education to more than 500 children, as well as to the medical centre that provides healthcare services to the local population.

Arne Matthyssen, Chief Commercial and Technology Officer and Managing Director of Starion Nederland B.V., said: “We are delighted to be providing support to the Sunshine In Nosy Komba charity by sponsoring this event. Good education and healthcare are fundamental services that every community deserves, and the work being done by this charity in both areas aligns with our company’s mission to empower individuals to achieve their full potential.”
