Space Weather Impacts on Critical National Infrastructure: SWIMMR S6 Findings and Recommendations Workshop

Starion has produced a report entitled ‘Space Weather Impacts on UK CNI’ as part of the UK’s Space Weather Instrumentation, Measurement, Modelling and Risk (SWIMMR) programme.

The SWIMMR S6 final report details the findings identified from interviews and workshops with over 100 industry stakeholders, using these to produce 40 recommendations for UK policymakers to improve space weather resilience in UK critical infrastructures.

On 4 October in London, Starion’s space weather experts are hosting an in-person workshop to disseminate the findings and recommendations, and facilitate discussions on how they can be implemented. Starion’s Dr Matthew Allcock is hosting the event and will deliver several presentations on the vulnerabilities to space weather of different critical infrastructure sectors.

In addition, as the overall SWIMMR programme is coming to a close, it will present an opportunity for discussions about future activities to support space weather resilience in the UK.
