Your Mission

Join us in shaping the future of secure and innovative technologies across space and cybersecurity.

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team for a 3 to 6-month internship starting at the beginning of 2027. In this role, you’ll actively support the frontend or backend technologies, while gaining valuable exposure to at least one of the following projects:

  • SAFEPLACE: This project supports civil protection and emergency response organisations by providing near real-time, actionable information during crises. The platform integrates a wide range of data sources – including satellite communications (satcoms), Earth observation imagery, IoT devices, and a network of in-situ sensors – to create a comprehensive situational awareness environment.
  • Mycelium: This project focuses on a web-based SysML v2 suite of tools for collaborative systems engineering. Based on the heritage of CDP4-COMET, it leverages the new SysML2 standard to elevate model-based systems engineering for aerospace and other industries.
  • INT-UQKD (International Use Cases for Operational QKD Applications and Services): The primary objective of the project is to enable quantum-safe communications links for specific use cases in operational IT environments – particularly in regulated sectors that have very strong security requirements.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of activities is flexible and can be oriented toward frontend or backend development, with activities selected from, but not limited to, the following:

  • Gaining exposure to backend development and database design through practical experience.
  • Contributing to frontend engineering projects with a focus on intuitive, user‑centred UI/UX design.
  • Building an understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Contributing to software quality and assurance activities, ensuring performance, reliability, and best coding practices.
  • Discovering the potential of quantum key distribution and contributing to cutting-edge research in secure communication technologies.
  • Collaborating in a diverse team to share ideas and develop technical and professional skills.

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

  • Enrolled in a University Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of C# and PostgreSQL, with bonus points for experience with GIS or mapping technologies.
  • Solid understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
  • Solution-oriented mindset, with customer-focused communication skill.

Why Make the Move?

  • Make an impact where it matters. Contribute to high profile projects supporting organisations such as ESA, EUMETSAT, the European Commission, NATO and national defence programmes.
  • Work alongside some of Europe’s brightest minds. Join an international team of experts who thrive on collaboration, innovation and solving complex challenges that deliver real-world results.
  • Grow beyond a single project. Join a growing international organisation and broaden your experience across a variety of projects and technical disciplines.
  • Invest in your future. Benefit from ongoing training, mentoring and professional development opportunities designed to support both your personal and professional growth.
  • Join a company that puts people first. Guided by our values of Integrity, Inspiration, Care and Collaboration, we offer a supportive culture, flexible working arrangements.

Equal Opportunities

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to achieving diversity within the workforce and creating an inclusive working environment. We therefore welcome applications from all candidates, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious beliefs, age, disability or other characteristics.
