Date: 11-13 May 2026
Location: ESA ESRIN, Frascati, Italy
The European Space Agency’s INSIGHT2026 workshop at ESA’s Centre for Earth Observation (ESRIN) will bring together the scientific community and industry working on advanced processing techniques for spaceborne systems to:
- Assess the current state of the art in advanced synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical signal processing
- Identify key challenges and emerging research directions
- Promote collaboration on algorithms and processing environments
- Support the preparation for future missions
- Accelerate the development and uptake of enhanced SAR-based applications across security domain.
Starion’s AI Engineers will be giving two presentations on Tuesday 12 May in the Big Hall:
- 14:15 in Session 4 (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning contribution to signal processing, Part II), Salvatore Prochilo will present ‘From Temporal Stacking to Single-Pass Inference: A Deep Learning Framework for SAR Denoising with Real Sentinel-1 References’
- 16:15 in Session 5 (Learning from Raw SAR Data and Onboard Processing), Vito Moliterni will present ‘AI-Based SAR Image Formation from Sentinel-1 Level-0 Data’.
In addition, the MIDAS project, led by Starion, will be the subject of a presentation on Monday 11 May at 15:30 during the opening session: ‘Measuring Infrastructure Vibrations from Space Using SAR Micro-Doppler: Current Status and Perspectives’.
