  • Starion’s new headquarters in Transinne, Belgium, is formally inaugurated today.
  • The unique building, designed by leading architectural company ASSAR, is also the headquarters of Starion’s sister company Nexova and hosts Nexova’s Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence.

Starion Group today celebrates the inauguration of its new headquarters in Transinne, Belgium. The unique 3,300m2 building is also home to Starion’s sister company Nexova and its Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence.

Located in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, the building was designed by ASSAR, the same architectural firm that designed NATO’s headquarters and the Belgian Defence Staff headquarters. It is situated in the Transinne cyber valley, alongside the European Space Agency’s European Space Security and Education Centre (ESA ESEC), the Euro Space Center and the IDELUX Cybersecurity Centre.

The new headquarters represents an investment of €20 million that is 100% Belgian and has received support from the Walloon region. Its primary role as the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence includes providing security for Europe’s most critical assets on Earth and in space. This reflects Starion and Nexova’s 30-year heritage in space engineering, including over a decade of securing European satellite infrastructures and data. The two companies’ space security expertise includes support for ESA’s Cyber Safety and Security Operations Centre (C-SOC) and Space Security Cyber Centre of Excellence (SCCoE), which are now in their operational phases, and the Italian Space Agency’s (ASI’s) Cyber Security Operations Center.

During the inauguration, the team demonstrated the Cybersecurity Centre’s cutting-edge technological facilities and advanced cyber capabilities, which include:

  • A next generation cyber-range designed to test the resilience of digital systems and train personnel in real-world conditions
  • Highly secure facilities with working environments and data centres
  • A security operations centre (SOC) providing continuous (24/7) monitoring of cyber threats and rapid incident management
  • A technology lab dedicated to research into secure connectivity solutions for the future, including quantum communications and radio frequency penetration testing.

The building also serves as a hub for training and education, for both cybersecurity and system engineering skills.

The location of the building will have a direct impact on the local economy: by 2026, nearly 100 experts will join the Transinne site. These new recruits will help strengthen Belgium’s position as a major cybersecurity hub in Europe.
