Date: 25-27 September 2024
Location: International Space University, Strasbourg, France
The 11th International Systems & Concurrent Engineering for Space Applications Conference (SECESA 2024), organised by the European Space Agency (Technical and Quality Management Directorate and Concurrent Design Facility), takes place on 25-27 September 2024.
Held on a biannual basis, the SECESA conference aims to foster networking and exchange of ideas, experiences, lessons learned and future trends in the area of systems and concurrent engineering among any organisations involved in space and related activities. Innovative approaches enabling and improving methodologies, latest technologies and tools and relevant applications will be presented.
Some of Starion’s experts in model-based system engineering (MBSE) and concurrent design will be presenting papers at the event, including:
Wednesday 25 September
- 12:00 CET – Dr Gwendolyn Kolfschoten, Concurrent Design Expert: ‘A fairy human touch of a Concurrent Design Team Leader’
- 15:10 CET – Sam Gerené, Competence Area Lead Concurrent Design and MBSE: ‘The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) Concurrent Design Facility’
Thursday 26 September
- 10:20 CET – Paloma Maestro Redondo, System Engineer and Project Manager: ‘A Tool to Support Concurrent Reviewing of Concurrent Engineering Products’
- 15:00 CET – Dr Gwendolyn Kolfschoten: Concurrent Design and the transition to adoption of MBSE at the Dutch MOD
Play Tricky Towers!
On Thursday at 15:45, Starion will host a ‘game’ that lets participants experience how to progress from a rough estimate to well quantified parameter, given that quantification is one of the key success factors for concurrent design, and how to deal with uncertainties: design something safe or build in more margin?
