Date: 4 October 2025
Location: ESAC, Villanueva de la Cañada, near Madrid, Spain
The European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Villanueva de la Cañada, near Madrid, is the scientific heart of the European Space Agency’s (ESA’s) astronomy and planetary missions. From here, the scientific operations of some of the most important space telescopes are managed, such as XMM-Newton and Gaia. ESAC is also home to the science archives for missions such as the James Webb Space Telescope, Solar Orbiter, Mars Express and Rosetta.
At the ESAC Open Day, visitors will be able to talk with astronomers and data experts, discover how signals from distant galaxies and exoplanets are analysed, and get acquainted with the state-of-the-art tools used for space exploration.
Starion will have a stand at the event where you can meet our team and learn about the many exciting space-related jobs they do at ESAC and elsewhere. We’ll also have fun activities for the children, making this a great day out for all the family.
