We are looking for an Expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to work from our offices in Darmstadt, Germany.
The AI Expert will become part of multidisciplinary team supporting our clients by implementing ground segment data analysis and planning optimization systems using AI algorithms and cloud environments in the frame of development activities for ESA.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Performing a range of tasks across the lifecycles of future and operational programmes in support of our client’s in contributing to:
- Analysis of AI architectures and applications for specific tasks
- Development of AI prototypes to rapidly assess new ideas
- Preparation of training dataset.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University degree in computer science, or a technical field that provides similar competences.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in applying AI and Machine Learning for the creation of applications.
- Demonstrable experience in applying AI techniques with GenAI and agentic Systems (e.g. RAG, GraphRag, vectorless, LLM, langraph ecosystem)
- Good understanding of AI technology stacks and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Familiarity with software development processes
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Demonstrable experience in High Throughput Computing, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing stack, Big Data or other distributed computing technologies.
- Knowledge of ECSS, Space standard.
- Knowledge of Exploitation Platform programme.
