We are currently looking for a Satellite Imagery Production Manager to work in the Earth Observation segment of the Data Processing Centre.
Tasks and activities
The scope of activities will include:
- Ensuring quality of service for direct clients and end users, as well as 24/7 service resilience.
- Managing the nominal and high-level production of images and verifying the correct execution of all process treatments.
- Defining, performing & anticipating contingency procedures to resume nominal operations.
- Performing quality control of the products before distribution to the clients.
- Managing and monitoring the cataloguing and archiving functions.
- Writing, editing, and controlling ground operations procedures and documentation.
- Contribution to HW/SW/network maintenance of the production subsystem environment.
- Daily liaison with managers of other MOC segments to support continuous improvement and system robustness.
- Participating in all the preparations and acceptance activities of the Ground Control Segment, such as Commissioning phase and In-Orbit Qualification.
- Co-management and leadership of a team of satellite imagery operators.
- Provision of on-call support as required.
- Organisation and coordination of team training activities.
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Senior Engineer with a degree in Informatics or equivalent qualification.
- Operational knowledge of satellite systems and procedures for user service request management and programming functions.
- Advanced knowledge and working experience of Earth Observation systems or similar.
- Practical experience working with operational customers.
- 2–3 years of experience in image processing procedures.
- Strong team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively across functions as required.
- Proven experience in team and people management within an operational environment.
- Team spirit, information sharing, and empowerment.
- Motivated and willing to learn new skills and competences.
- Ability to work in an operational and commercial context.
- Positive, focused, and proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- EU citizenship is mandatory.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience are highly desirable:
- Knowledge and working experience of Earth Observation systems.
- 2-3 years of experience in a 24/7 working environment.
- Understanding of imagery and GIS.
- Knowledge of any additional EU language would be considered an asset
