We are looking for a System Support Engineer to be part of the CAMOS Team and you will be working directly at EUROCONTROL’s HQ premises in Brussels, Belgium.
CAMOS stands for Centralised ARTAS Maintenance and Operational Support; the CAMOS Team is in charge of the provision of the CAMOS service for all ARTAS Systems within EUROCONTROL Member States Organisations. As part of a small team of 3 System Support Engineers, you will be trained to provide support and expertise to all ARTAS Users.
ARTAS is the ATM Surveillance Tracker and Server that has been deployed by the Agency in cooperation with Member States and Industry since the early 90’s. ARTAS is now used operationally at 31 sites and in the pre-operational mode at another 20 sites.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Analyse and improve the CAMOS Team infrastructure used to develop and testing the ARTAS releases.
- Analyse and improve Cybersecurity in ARTAS.
- Prototype and define an ARTAS virtualisation solution.
- Process requests or troubleshoot issues related to installation, cybersecurity, networking, and SNMP.
- Participate to the Users Groups meeting and the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
- Take the lead and autonomy in the following type of activities:
- LINUX Support
- Definition of rules / documents
- Creation of a ticketing system
- Define a platform for the future
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Masters University Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
- At least 3 years proven experience in software support activities.
- Proficiency in LINUX operating systems.
- Proficiency in script programming languages (i.e. bash, python).
- Experience in Network communication standards and interoperability issues (networking switches and routers configuration).
- Experience in Virtualisation (e.g. KVM, ovirt, VMware).
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. French will be an asset.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Knowledge of C++, Java or other programming languages.
