We are looking for a Spacecraft Controller to work at SITAEL’s premises in Rome, Italy.
As part of the Operations Engineering Service, you will contribute to an exciting satellite constellation project managed from the Italian Space Agency (ASI) site. In this role, you will be directly involved in every stage of the mission, from operations preparation and validation to the execution of operations during the Launch and Early Orbit phase through to commissioning. There is also the possibility to support routine operations, allowing you to extend your impact throughout the full mission lifecycle.

SITAEL is a private, Italian-based space company that provides specialised, world-leading services for the development of Small Satellites. From initial designs to final production SITAEL is involved throughout the development of their products, with additional experience in various technological industries including avionics and railway-based electronics.
This position is open to protected categories under Italian Law 68/99 (“Rules for the right to work of disabled people”).

Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Contributing to operations procedures execution during launch and commissioning phase.
- Executing the Spacecraft operations procedures.
- Supporting the Spacecraft Operations Manager in case of occurring anomalies.
- Handling of TC and TM flows.
- Satellite resources monitoring.
- Supporting Ground Segment teams for anomaly management.
- S-band and X-band management.
- Working on 24/7 shifts as part of an important team, rotating to ensure the best and most secure support to the constellation.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University degree (or equivalent qualification) in a Space, Aerospace or Aeronautics engineering field.
- Knowledge of satellite subsystems and operations procedures application.
- Direct experience on mission operations concepts.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with customer focused communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience are highly desirable:
- Knowledge of Ground systems and Mission Control Systems.
