We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and take on the pivotal role of Senior GL Accountant. You will be responsible for overseeing the local legal reporting, statutory accounts and taxes management including relationships with auditors across various legal entities in both Europe and Canada.
Reporting directly to the Statutory Accounting Lead, you will have the opportunity to work in a multicultural environment with colleagues across 10 countries. The position is located in our HQ in Wavre, Belgium.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Demonstrate proficiency in statutory accounting, ensuring timely completion of financial statements and tax returns (VAT and Corporate Income Tax).
- Lead consolidation, transfer pricing, and audits.
- Monitor all GL accounting aspects of month-end close and year-end close processes.
- Maintain a keen focus on compliance with company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of integrity and transparency.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Certified Chartered Accountant (CPA) or proven equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of proven experience in Revenue Recognition, cost accounting and statutory accounting.
- Strong hands-on expertise with ERP, MS Office in particular Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate across the organization and positively influence business outcomes.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Collaborative, flexible, resilient, and able to perform under high pressure.
- Willingness and ability to work at both operational and strategic levels.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
