  • Taking care of the assessment of business, technological and operational requirements of SatCom networks and their integration with terrestrial wired and wireless networks in an end-to-end system context.

  • Supporting the analysis, definition, initiation and management of industrial activities associated to new projects in the telecommunication satellite system domain.
  • Defining all the elements end-to-end associated to the mission/system architecture of new telecommunication satellite projects/systems.
  • Performing trade-offs between different concepts/technologies to optimize the end-to-end system. Support in the generation of procurement data packages (ITT, RFQ).

Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Physics or Engineering, or a relevant field, with at least 4 years of proven relevant experience.
  • Engineering experience in Satellite Communications (SATCOM).
  • Expertise in and knowledge of business development in the European and international commercial space sector, including in institutional markets, and/or digital economy.
  • Experience in change processes by adoption of new processes, opportunity management, investment schemes, innovation and creativity.
  • Familiar with driving strategic engagement through international business partnerships between space, telecom or media and vertical markets (e.g. transport, energy, health, government, security).
  • Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
  • Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset.
