We are looking for an Application Lifetime Coordinator (Procurement) to work in Frascati, Italy where you will provide key support at ESA’s ESRIN premises.
About the client and location
The ESA Centre for Earth Observation (ESRIN) is the European Space Agency’s (ESA) base in Frascati, Italy. From this location ESA conducts most of their earth observation research, including data analysis and distribution for other non-ESA satellites. They also test and implement many of the Corporate Applications that are needed by a large organisation such as ESA.

Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Ensuring the smooth operation of the Corporate Application, including:
- Handling Application-related exceptions and escalations.
- Granting the usability of the Application to end-users.
- Granting the adherence of the Application with business processes.
- Relying on the Application services supplied by the providers including functional support, corrective maintenance, minor evolution and in some cases major evolution.
- Supervising the Ticket management by checking samples of Remedy notifications received.
- Representing the operational day-by-day Agency authority concerning the Application for functional and business aspects.
- Acting as the contact point for suppliers regarding questions and issues where follow up requires Application Coordinator intervention.
- Reviewing deliverables and documentation.
- Leading and managing the end-to-end process of implementation of new business requirements, including:
- Providing demand management towards ESA Customer Representatives, Process Leaders, SPOCs and end-users (‘’User Groups’’).
- Interacting with the service provider in terms of impact assessment, negotiation, development, testing and deploying of a new business requirement (major or minor evolution).
- Completing periodical checks on the level of adoption of a new solution implemented in the Application.
- Supporting Year End Closure, Reorganization, Rebooking, etc.
- Supporting ad-hoc activities required due to IT infrastructure maintenance and by the CISOS Providers/others
- Reviewing service providers proposals with the main objective to maximize the Agency interest.
- Managing and supervising application-related exceptions and escalations raised by users (Attendance to ESA Departmental and Divisional meetings).
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of ESA-STAR would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures for large organisations.
- Knowledge of SAP SRM and ECC Modules and main concepts.
- Consolidated experience in IT Consultancy.
- Experience on working in international contexts.
- Knowledge of Office 365.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. A working knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Knowledge of Ticket Management Systems.
- Experience in handling/reviewing IT end-user calls for IT related issues.
