We are looking for a Mission Control System Engineer to work at ESA’s premises ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Supporting the preparation of the Mission Control System for the Sentinels Expansions.
- Participating in system reviews.
- Contributing to requirements engineering to the Sentinels Expansions.
- Participating in anomaly investigations.
- Supporting the system development by following the Sentinels Expansions experience on usage of PUS-C and File Based Operations.
- Providing ad hoc support to the preparation of the Earth Explorers (level of support may be increased depending on the workload on the Sentinel Expansions).
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge and experience of SCOS-2000 based mission control systems.
- Experience in system reviews.
- Experience in system requirements engineering or mission control system maintenance.
- Experience in problem/anomaly investigation and resolution.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Knowledge of any of the following:
- File Based Operation.
- Earth Observation Mission Control Systems.
- Service delivery to external organizations.
